Zygote intrafallopian transfer (zift)

The ZIFT (intrafallopian transfer of fertilized eggs) procedure is performed mainly in women suffering from endometriosis, in couples with unexplained sterility, and in cases of male factor sterility. It requires healthy fallopian tubes.

The ZIFT method is similar to GIFT, with the difference that it is executed 24-48 hours after egg collection, as fertilisation occurs first in the laboratory and the embryos or zygotes are placed into the fallopian tubes.

GIFT is performed at "GENESIS ATHENS" in the operation room, under general anaesthesia and laparoscopy on the day of egg collection.

It is performed at "GENESIS ATHENS" under general anaesthesia and laparoscopy. It appears that in some women the natural environment of the fallopian tube and various intrafallopian factors play a part in the development of embryos and their subsequent implantation.
